Suxufi Ka Tirsan BBC-da Oo Warbixin Ka Qoray Somaliland ( THE FULLY DEMOCRATIC SOMALILAND!)
Maqaalkan waxa qoray in suxufi ah oo magaciisa la yidhaaho Ian Norman kana tirsan war-baahinta BBC-dda, oo tegay somaliland iyo somaliya bishan aynu ku jirno 08/02/2013, isaga si xaqiiqi ah baadhi-taan ugu sameeyey somaliland laga soo bilaabo isku dar ku sheegi 01/07/1960-ggii, illaa iyo martkii uu tegay, waa nin weryie ahaa mudo 27 sano, in badana ku wareegay qaaradaha aduunka, isaga oo ka war bixinaaya wixii uu soo arkay, kuna qoran afka Ingiriisiga ah hoos ka akhriso.
The former British protectorate has also escaped much of the chaos and violence that plague Somalia, although attacks on Western aid workers in 2003 raised fears that Islamic militants in the territory were targeting foreigners.
Although there is a thriving private business sector, poverty and unemployment are widespread. The economy is highly dependent on money sent home by members of the diaspora. Duties from Berbera, a port used by landlocked Ethiopia, and livestock exports are important sources of revenue.
The latter have been hit by embargoes on exports, imposed by some Gulf countries to inhibit the spread of Rift Valley Fever.
Somaliland’s leaders have distanced themselves from Somalia’s central transitional government, set up in 2004 following long-running talks in Kenya, which they see as a threat to Somaliland’s autonomy. In June 2012, however, they agreed to talks in London with the Somali government on settling Somaliland’s status, under the aegis of Britain, the European Union and Norway.
Somaliland was independent for a few days in 1960, between the end of British colonial rule and its union with the former Italian colony of Somalia. More than 40 years later voters in the territory overwhelmingly backed its self-declared independence in a 2001 referendum.
After years of uncertinity , the basis of somaliland was established, and shaped by Perisident Egal, and it later become fully functioned under the administration of Last perisident Dahir Riyale ( in this adminsitration their national securtiy service were well trained) and saved this country from illogic fights of somalia ( were they are used to be since 01/07/1960-18/05/191) to become the happiest people in East Africa. Some of Europeans support them ( Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Holland,, Finland, iceland, Republic of Ireland, sw/land, Spain, Belgium,) although America & U.K are the most Favarites of all, yet the Italians, and most of Arabs headed by Egypt, Kingdom of Suadi Arabia are against somaliland. Some Arab countries in gulf of Arabia i.e United Arab Emmrates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain have business links and cultural trading routes for so many centuries are different from rest of Arabs ( no one knows why), some of worldest fuel resereaches say, Saudis are scary for Red Sea Petrol Potentials, in which all involved compines, ElF, Conaco, Total, BP said all wells are inclined to somaliland sea, some of it goes in side land, This fuel stores were all agreed, and abundent in this country, but there is nothing or little in ex-Italian somalia.
I been in this country in 08/02/ 2013, and i believe the strong will of Somaliland people would over come this problem sometime in near future, if you don’t believe what i wrote above than go there, and have a look for one week only. what surpraised me is, i been a journalist for 27 year in BBC, i never ever saw money in the streets like this in Somaliland, of that is cashing with no fear, guarded with out guns any where all over the country unlike somalia, Europe, America, Asia, Africa.
